Trading in The Sitting Blues for Sandy Shoes

Does anyone else really dislike sitting all day? I read an article in Relevant Magazine today that said scientists are now quantifying the amount of minutes shaved off our lifespan for every hour we spend sitting.

Tell me - how exactly does one quantify this?

Regardless, it got me thinking about how much I dislike being strapped to a chair for 9+ hours each day. I've said it before, and I will say it again, I am incredibly thankful for my job, but I just don't believe that we were designed for this. Working, yes. Responsibility, absolutely. Sitting in front of a computer all day, not so much.

Counting down the days until I move to my island oasis...(ok, so maybe not literally counting down the days, but looking forward to the day, nonetheless). Picture it, little cottage on an island with miles of mostly undeveloped, pristine beaches. Wildlife and great community. What more could you ask for? I left my heart in Ocracoke...
